Help!
I've had my BB7520 for over a year - all good - but now my screen is frozen on the icon window with a network notification window announcing I have new voicemail and can't access anything. Track wheel is frozen, keyboard is frozen - and I'm getting information (email and calls) but can't answer or open.
I've done the battery thing and was on with a technician trying to reboot for over an hour
Anyone have any idea what next?
I need to get to my contacts!

I would use BlackBerry Desktop Manager to backup the device. Then use JavaLoader to completely delete all information from the device (including the OS). Finally, reload the handheld software and restore your backup.

If the problem continues, your device is failing. Time to get a new one.

Also - if I get a new device; can I keep my number and restore all contact information? If so - what and where is the easiest way to get a new one?

Download JL_Cmder from my signature. It leverages JavaLoader but is a little easier to use.

Yes, you can keep your number. Just get a new 7520 from your carrier and move the SIM card from your current device to the new one. If you switch carriers they will have to port your number over.

Make sure to create a backup of your existing BlackBerry. If your get a new handheld just restore the information from the backup you created.
