Verizon is Superior in all areas, but sprint did not cripple the GPS in their 8703e, Verizon did...

Depends on where you live, work, travel and play. Speed, voice quality, etc., mean nothing if you can't connect, so check out where you will use the phone and then decide. In most cases, Verizon and Cingular have the best coverage, followed by T-mobile and then Sprint/Nextel.

20 kbps? You are not in EVDO coverage area? I get about 420 kbps on Sprint with the 7130e using the Sprint connection software.

My sprint is pretty fast. Downloaded 5 songs in under 4min. If you are in EVDO I dont see there being much difference in speed. SPrint is cheaper I think.

I have Verizon on my 7130e. I noticed a peak one day of 730 kbps. Although with Verizon you have to "subscribe" to BroadbandAccess (mine was $15 extra per month). (Verizon doesn't use EDGE, we're CDMA/EV-DO). My normal connection speed is usually 200-400 kbps.

I do really like the voice quality much better in MY area than on my former Cingular. And regardless of the advertising, I have yet to have one dropped call on my Verizon vs. a couple per day on my Cingular account.

My only concern with my Verizon account is that CDMA isn't EVERYWHERE in the world. GPS/GPRS seems to be very dominent. I am concerned traveling to western Europe won't allow me to use my services.

i'm using a data card on the sprint evdo network and have had bursts up to 1.5Mbps. I'm averaging 7 to 800kbps and pretty much in los angeles, the san fernando and san gabriel valleys i get a great signal. it also helps that the card i chose has an external antenna for those times when my signal is only 2 bars. all i can say is that sprint blazes!
