Default Gmail Quetion - Receipt of sent Email

Please Login to Remove!

I recently purchased the 8100 (TMobile) and have a couple of questions.

This was asked by someone before but I haven't seen a response.

1. Everytime I compose an email from my blackberry to someone through my GMail account, I receive a copy of the sent email in my inbox. Is there a way to disable this feature?

2. On my home screen (I have the TMobile Zen theme) I used to have the "phonebook" icon on my toolbar at the bottom but it has disappeared. Does anyone know how to get it back?

Thank you!

Set up your GMail account to foward your emails instead of your BIS polling for your GMail emails. That stopped the "Sent" emails being sent to my device.

Thanks! You will have to excuse my ignorance on doing this but is there a way for you to explain how/where to do that on the gmail site?

Or you can login to the BIS, create a filter for your gmail account where From=gmail-address and do not forward. That way you can send from the gmail acct on your BB.

First log into your Gmail account. Go to options, select the POP and Fowarding tab, then write in your Blackberry email address to be fowarded to. Don't forget to remove the Gmail account from your BIS, otherwise you'll get like four of every email. Unfortunately, like mentioned above, you won't be able to write emails sent from your Blackberry from your Gmail account. So your other option is to set up the filter.

I created a filter for both gmail and yahoo to not have sent emails to my BB. The best way I've found is doing it through the BIS site..not the BIS on your BB. Here's the url https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=mycingular
After logging in do the following steps below:

1)Click the filter icon
2Provide name for your filter(ie Do not forward)
3)Select "From" from the dropdownlist
4)provide your gmail address
5)Click add filter

Moosehead: Thank you very much...that was what I needed. Step by step instructions, espcially since I didn't know what BIS was. Works perfectly!

Any ideas about the address book icon?

U mentioned that it was there at one point now gone correct? If this is the case you may had hidden it by mistake. You have the ability to hide and move icons on your come screen.

To be sure this is what I would do... press ALT and the TrackWheel in at the same time. You should see a pop up menu for Move, Hide, ShowALL applications.

Make sure Hide Application is not checked...if so you have hidden some...which could be the Address Book. Select Show All.

Let me know if that works.

Correction....noticed you have a Zen theme....go into you menu and scrool to the bottom...click Organize Application, then press ALT and the TrackWheel in at the same time....You should see a pop up menu for Move, Hide, ShowALL applications.

I did what you said and did the reset option so everything was put the way it was when I got the phone. I must have hit hide or something when I was messing around w/ it because everything is back. Thanks!

I would set a filter on my BIS for not downloading any email from [email address] rather than forwarding my gmail to my bb email. however, it is just my personal preferance.

I did this and while it solved the problem of outgoing mail coming back to my BB, now I don't receive any emails from gmail. When I check on my computer, there are emails in my inbox, but nothing coming to the BB. Any suggestions?

When you select "Filters" from the main account list, it takes you to a page that shows the list of filters you've created as well as a global setting for forwarding when no filters apply. Is the latter also set to "Do not forward messages to handheld?" If that option is selected both within the rule you've created and when no rules apply, you won't get any mail from that account on your BB.

That's weird because it works perfectly for me. Perhaps you missed something. Describe what you did so someone can figure it out, or search, because the answer is available in some earlier threads.

Hey... i was also having the same issue after i created the do not forwards filter.. what i did to solve the problem was to create another filter selecting on the drop down the "to field" and then type your email adress.. select the "forward to divice" option.
That should do the trick.
