Default 8700c network selection mode missing

Please Login to Remove!

I have a user who is missing the option to change his network selection mode on his 8700c. I 50 or more users with the same model and same OS version and they are showing the option correctly. His network screen simply has
Network: Cingular

and nothing else. If he clicks the wheel, his only options are Select and Close. We've popped the battery, we re-registered it on the network and still nothing. Any ideas????

Yeah a little confused as well....I have a 8700c and I don't think it's possible to change network. I'm on Cingular so don't know why there would be an option to say change to another network?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

My 8700c doesn't give me the option to select a network when I am in the US (with a Cingular signal). When I am roaming internationally it will let me pick the network that I want to use.

Cingular Blue users can change networks ,but Orange users can't unless intl. It's controlled by the SIM cards

I also have difficulty finding the Network Selection option. Is it true that the Network Selection option will show up when I am in a different country?
I think I saw that last time when I was in Asia, but it was 8700c

But the most important question is, will it show up when I insert a foreign SIM card in a foreign country on my Cingular unlocked 8800? (This is very important for me.)

Network selection is disabled for Cingular Orange SIM's (i.e. it's the SIM and not your BB). As for other carriers, it really depends on how they've set up their SIM's.
