Default BES and Exchange Problem with 8700G

Please Login to Remove!

I have an unlocked 8700G (TMO) that I am using on the Cingular Network. I use Link2Exchange for Exchange and BES service.

About once every couple of weeks, the Blackberry stops sending and receiving email.

Each time, the only solution is to wipe the device and reactivate. No one at Cingular or Link2Exchange seems to know what the problem may be.

The handheld has version 4.1.0.284 and a 64K Cingular chip.

Has anyone seen this type of issue before?

I also have a 7230 with a TMO chip running on the Link2Exchange service and I have no issues.

Thanks.

Could there be a problem running the 8700G on Cingular. Should I install Cingular's version of 4.0?

Try refreshing your service books. Seems to work for most of our internal BES issues.

No -- the carrier OS is really irrelevant. In fact, I'm running TMO's 4.1.0.284 on my 8700c with Cingular.

If there's a coverage issue sometimes the BB won't recover even when it regains signal unless the wireless state is cycled (have you tried that)? Resending the service books and pulling the battery are also standard troubleshooting that you might want to try if you haven't already.
