Which mobile's data cable is compatible to 6710 and 7700

Which mobile's data cable is compatible to 6710 and 7700 series ? Thx

The 67XX series come with a cradle that has a built in USB connection...but requires a serial connection to the PC. The 77XX series also has the same USB built into it's cradle, but is connected to the PC through a USB port.

Thx for replay. I like to know the interface of data cable at BB end is same to which mobile. I'm looking for its replacement.

We have all the correct replacements for your model... If that is what you need.

The device end of the BB67/77 is different than other devices so you will have to use what RIM designed.

Thx. Can the USB cable of BB77xx use on BB67xx Or the serial cradle of BB67xx use on BB77xx?

Probably could. Serial was standard when the 6700 was new.... now of course USB is. I can't see a reason why not.

You cannot interchange the 67xx and 77xx cradles.

Why? Elaborate...

We sell conversion cables to do just that type of thing.

Zro 03-30-2005 09:49 PM

Cause the 67xx is serial and the 77xx is USB. You can get a serial to USB converter, so you can plug the serial cradle into the USB port and have it appear to be a serial port still, but then it's still communicating as a serial device, not a USB device.

So if I understand you... you feel that the because the 67xx was originally a serial based device/cradle and the 7700 is a USB based device/cradle that the cradle swap won't work.

Would be an interesting test...

What if they really both serial devices and the 77xx really was just taking the USB stepping it to the same serial protocol as the 67xx?
