I'm completely new to Blackberry and have some (probably stupid) questions that I'd like some help on.
I have yet to actually purchase the phone, but I'm looking at the 7130c.
My old phone finally bit the dust a few days ago and the interim phone is driving me batty. I had planned to keep the old one until the need arose for me to get a full blown PDA phone with all the email/internet bells and whistles once I move into the professional world after graduating college. I really have no need for any of that just yet, save for the SMS text messaging that I do on a fairly consistent basis.
So, I was thinking of just purchasing the phone and not activating the Blackberry service options that Cingular currently offers until I need it a few months down the line. I would just want to take the SIM card out of the current piece of junk that is holding it and then put it into the new Blackberry and continue using the same service plan that I am now (which is just a normal contract with text and media net privileges). Would this even work?
Like I said, I'm totally new to this, so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, I know. I'm totally going to upgrade my service a few months down the line when Im actually going to need it. I need to get a new phone right now, so I figured it would just make sense to buy the phone and upgrade the service when it's needed.
I was looking at the 7130c with Cingular, too, and stumbled across Amazon's amazing discount so that the 7130c is $0.01. I needed to sign up with the data plan, but the discounted price provided me with the savings that would pay for months of data.
Just search for Blackberry 7130c on Amazon.
