So new.. so many questions. OK. Right to it. I do not have the blackberry software cd that came with my 7290. I don't really know what it's for seeing as I am using it just fine.. but maybe not to it's potential. I would like to download a few third party programs like an ebook, a game, and a nice app for my business. When I went to the bb site and checked for what to do... I think I did something wrong . I have a desktop manager on the pc now.. it's version 4.0and the service pack is one... and there's an update I downloaded that goes with it. On my bb the version and platform are listed as...v3.8.0.139 (Plat. 1.8.0.99) The carrier is cingular (y). My pc email program is OUTLOOK. Should I be doing somthing to get the destop manager and bb linked up? Which one should I pick? how do I update the version on the handheld :bb:? Why do I feel like I am in the twilight zone with this? But don't get me wrong...I'm not giving it up. I really like my bb and am taking it shopping next week for accessories . GO BB. You're for me. MsK |
The latest version of Desktop Manager is 4,2. DM is used to synch the BB (contacts and calendar) with Outlook or other supported programs. It is also needed to backup/restore the BB and to load applications. You can use over the air to load many programs however. |
