Default BB Email Outage in CT?

Please Login to Remove!

Since turning on my 7130e this morning I have been haveing starnge email issues.

For about three hours this morning I kept getting the same two email messages from yesterday. I would delete them on the device and the mailbox but they would return after about 20 - 30 minutes. Also, I have not been able to receive email through Verizon Wireless. I spent an hour on the phone with their data tech support and did several things but it is still not working.

Verizon now says there is a probelm in Massachusettes that may be impacting me. I can send and receive PIN messages but no email. I am geting the emails on my desktop so I don't think it is a Yahoo Mail issue.

Anyone else having issues.

Have you tried deleting and re-sending your service books?

The Verizon tech tried resending the service book a couple of times and it was not delivered to my BB. She also had me wipe my device and reset my email on the BIS site. Nothing helped.

Are you getting 1XEV? are you able to make voice calls?

have you tried to re register your handheld with your BIS site (enter pin number and esn nubmer)?

I do have 1XEV and voice service is fine. I can also send and receive PIN messages.

I have reregistered the device several times and each time get a message delived that the device has been registered on the network. I also reset the device info. on the BIS site, and re-registered after but still no email.

Are you a Verizon Wireless user in CT? Is your email getting delivered properly? VZW Tech Support indicated there is a chance my 7130e is defective (even though it has been working for a month) and if so, they will replace it.

Actually, the VZW tech said although CT appeared OK, there was a massive outage in MA due to the high winds this weekend and she thought perhaps I was being affected by that.

Default I have had the same problems in NYC

Last night at 10:48pm my email service started acting up. It was fine and then...not so much with the fine. I had the same deal, with my BB popping up the same two emails even after I destroyed them.

I am glad I am not alone, but I hope it's fixed soon. Everything else on my BB seems to be working fine.

Sound like the tech support is also blowing wind. The problem is with the connection to the email servers or the servers. The Pin to Pin connection is via the carrier and RIM. The Email is via the Carrier , Rim and the email system.
Generally the wind has very little to do with anything but it does get the customer off the phone for a while.

There has been random outages this past week for all carriers. Some for minutes and some longer. Most users have not even noticed.

If they are offering a replacement, go for it but be aware , it may be a refurbished unit..

verizon (and it seems tmo) is having issues today, i had a unit replaced due to a stuck pixel and verizon couldn't get it activated for internet.. however, i must say i was amazed with the quality of service i was given, the store manager called WDTS in his office and went through two hours of trouble shooting with them so that way I didn't have to.. he had them create a ticket that was escalated to have them manually activate the internet connection on the switch.. they told me it would be 24-48 hours, and within 20 minutes i got a phone call from a corporate rep who was activating it at that point..

i was having email issues last night on my old unit though, would not send or recieve for a few hours.. seems to be resolved... the vzw rep today told me RIM was doing maintence and it was giving them some trouble..

It seems like once you get to someone who knows in any carrier you get good service. If only you could bypass the ones who dont know and try to fake it.

the random outages were because of the bad unit?

Service in CT seems to have improved this morning. I have received a couple of emails and have been able to send some from my 7130e. I will continue to test during the day and report back later.

Has anyone else who was having email issues yesterday seen any improvement?

I am in So CA area. I had had email issues since Friday 10-ish pm. It seems I started receiving email around 6-ish this morning.

It appears whatever was going on with VZW email service in CT has been corrected. Service has been working normally for over 24 hours now.
