I was wondering, what is the process? Do I just have to back up my calendar, address book, etc, on my pc and then transfer everything onto my pearl? I have lots of important contacts and appointments, so I would just like to confirm. Thanks in advace! I'm excited about the pearl!! :)

you should sync with your outlook, then resync it to your pearl.

You may also choose to use the backup & restore option in the desktop manager.

In addition you may want to download the latest ver 4.2 desktop manager directly from the RIM site.

I did so recently & it's a big improvement over the earlier version.

I already did a back up and restore. All I have to do is plug in the 8100 to my laptop and restore? Will 4.2 be compatible with 4.1?
