Default 7100 Multi-Tap Typing (ABC on main menu)

Please Login to Remove!

Somehow I switched my 7100 to multi-tap typing and it displays ABC over my signal strength meter. I can't seem to figure out how to switch back. Not that I need to type something from the main menu, I just want the "ABC" gone.

Thanks for helping out this noob.

Go to a text field (easiest way, compose a new email) and then press and hold * until the ABC goes away.

Thanks! I read about switching inside text fields but didn't realize that would carry over into the main menu.

"ABC" yielded no searchable hits. Hopefully now it will. ;)

It seems to be a small bug in the software, that if you leave multi-tap on after leaving a normal text field, the symbol stays on the screen. No big deal....I just remember to turn it off when done.

That was driving me crazy, I couldn't figure out what it was and how to get rid of it.

Thanks
