Default BB vs Treo Email Question

Please Login to Remove!

First, yes...I've done the search and just want some clarification.

People generally have said on those threads the Treo 600/650 has inferior email. The descriptions lead me to believe that it's the lack of "instant" email, which true is inferior. However, the way it's been described doesn't sound any different than a user, like myself, using the BWC vs. a server. Would that be a fair statement that email on a 600/650 is like using a BB w/ a BWC?

Versa Mail is just an email client that allow user to set a schedule for periodic retrieve of email from defined servers.

Blackberry is much more than that. It has pushmail, push-calendar and remote address lookup. Plus encryption. Likewise for blackberry connect (depend on version)

I've been through the Treo/email deal. Not anywhere as clean & transperant as the BB is. I was a Palm OS user since the Palm III but gave up on it because of the email issues on the Palm platform (at least w/ the Treo).

I didn't use the Treo for anything but three function, 1. Phone, 2. PDA, 3. Email.

It was a great PDA, but a crappy phone & email device. After four days w/ my BB 7520 I don't see myself ever going back to Palm. (Their 'Worst-t-Mail' is a horrible client, IMHO).

I think what is different about the bb is that even with bwc, you can still have true push-email. If you have your email server forward your email when you get it, then it becomes true pushmail. But, if you have it check every 15 minutes, then yes it is the same as treo.
