my boss have a 8700g with tmobile and right now he is down in chile. he told me he got EDGE. isn't south america is undevelop? i would though he would get GPRS?

it depends on the country size, the are only few mobile operators that work with balckberry, just recently in venezuela (movistar uses CDMA 1XEV and it works fast and well).

Chile has edge, and now 3.5G on selected areas.

I'm in Eastern Oregon with TMobile and I don't even have EDGE!!! Talk about undeveloped!

We have plenty of service. Where I'm at the TMobile tower doesn't have EDGE. But Unicel does have EDGE and they have good coverage. I just don't know why it's taking TMobile so long to roll out EDGE.

I would at least try to use my own language correctly when calling an entire continent "undevelop".

Coverage can be bad anywhere in the world including the USA. All a matter of cost and number of customers the carrier has.

Here in Chile we have EDGE in most zones, specially all santiago, we have gprsm in the subway and 3.5G in some areas.
