Thumbs up

Pay your term fee and recoop the cost by joining Tmobile. You will save $20 per month on unlimited data service alone. The Blackberry Pearl has a great mp3 player and still holds a charge. Example I sit at a desk 9 hrs per day listening to my mp3's and normal use on the phone and my battery needs to be charged only every 2-3 days.

The Pearl also supports a 2 gig card meaning a ton of songs.

If the Pearl is what you're after, there's no need to switch from Cingular if they still fit your needs. Their version of the Pearl will be out in about a month.

He should still switch to save the twenty dollars per month if TMobile's reception is good in his area.
