What is all the hype about Good competing heavily against RIM?

Not only was GoodLink awarded 5 out of 5 stars, but it was recognized as

Attack of the BlackBerry killers?

The Economist ran a story on the mounting competition to BlackBerry. Danny Shader is quoted throughout the article. Good is positioned as the already very successful company that RIM will go head to head with in the corporate market (while the white label players compete for a different part of the market).

Tried it, it was ok. I didnt read your link but I would assume he is not speaking from an IT admin's point of view nor from a security view. I have sat through several Good Tech's presentations, and I am still not convinced maybe they need some new sales guys because it seems they just bad mouth RIM more than they speak positive about their own product, makes them sound like poor losing children. And I asked for a followup from my area's rep and didnt hear shit back. RIM is solid, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

I have to wonder if TreoMan's posts are an attempt to sell Goodlink service.

It is against the rules to crosspost duplicates - and your last few messages seem like you are advertising Goodlink (you even posted phone number info for Goodlink) Discussion and debate is welcome as long as RIM is, but your last 6 messages seem suspiciously "advertising-like" and is out of context. Good call jbairdjr, looks that way doesn't it? So RIM has competition, that’s commonly what keeps good company's a-top of the heap. Beside I really don't see any consumers rushing out to their carrier asking "Good Technology" service or phones for that matter. To give you and idea the previous and current company I work for both have/had Good Technology servers, not sure who singed off on those purchases but I don't think they faired to well after both company's went with BES for it's security and fail safe integration with Exchange.

I liken Good Technology to Danger, both great idea's not sure I can add much more about either except as long as there are originators there will always be imitators, its not hard for 95% of IT admin’s to weed out the good (no pun intended) from the bad or average.
