Default New to BB

Just wanted to say Hello and introduce myself. I just recieved my BB 7520 from nextel yesterday. It was in my hands in under 24 hours at no additional cost, when they told me it would be 3-5 days. I was impressed.

although initial setup was a nightmare because of all the changes i was making to my plan, the setup of the blackberry took 2 phone calls to customer service. 1 was to activate the phone and make sure my plan was setup right, the other was because i couldn't seem to register with the web client. customer service was better than any customer service experience i have ever had...ever....anywhere, because they spent more than 2 hours on the phone with me walking me through the plan changes and setup.

I am so impressed with this thing. The screen is far better, and bigger than my i830 i came from. The keys are pretty easy to get used to, even after only a few hours of playing with it. It is certainly better than using the normal phone typing system pressing the keys so many times to get the letter you want, or typing out the work and sorting through the various words till you find the one you want. the email is amazing, although i can't seem to install the desktop software on my pc. I think my pc is hosed which is the problem, but the email via the web client works without a hitch.

Text messaging, or lack thereof, is a little disappointing, but since i only sent 5-10 of these things at most a month, i don't mind using teleflip, which i really thank all of you for mentioning.

I bought reqwireless's browser on recommendations i have seen here and it is a great little browser, far better than the default nextel online one. so i'll be looking around the tips and tricks and other goodies around here.

thanks to all of you who contributed and make the BB the best device i've bought yet!

Off to search....talk to you soon!

Welcome to the world of BlackBerry and BlackBerryForums.com!

I absolutely love my 7520 -- I came from the i860. Do yourself a favor and check out Mark's FAQ at http://www.BerryFAQ.com for endless hours of Berry-Bliss.
