DuckduckGo seems to be less invasive and a bit quicker than some others.

Anyone look at the date of the OP? 2006!

What a long strange trip.

Back in 2006 mobile versions of good sites was a big deal. Now, not so much. I don't really pay attention except when redirected to mobile site and it's crap. Nowadays the native browser supports full versions of websites just fine. The mobile version of a site can be convenient and easier to use, except when it's a poor imitation of the full site.

Using some sites redesigned for mobile use can be a disaster. One example is the financial sites like Yahoo or Fidelity. The redesigned Fidelity site is pathetic and like Yahoo financial just about useless. the PC browser works fine. when a site detects a mobile device vs a PC it is better than the sites that think the entire world is just using a cell phone and forget the displays are different. It's almost like their designers design using cell phones. Must save on giving design staff full computers.
