Just got my 7250. I use SMS often. I have looked but don't see any "Canned" Messages i.e. "On my way" "Call me" "Where are you" "Need directions" etc etc. Plus you can make your own.

If it isnt available, does anyone have an alternate strategy?

Someone gave really good instructions for using autotext to do this..hold on let me find my directions...

Setting up autotext
options -> autotext.

Create a new entry.

In the 'replace' field, enter the text to trigger the template, like "faulttemp" - something uncommon.

In the 'with' field, enter the template fields, with appropriate spacing/formatting.

like -

date:

description:

etc. etc.

and hit save.

compose an email message, type the word faulttemp, and hit space - it will load the text as specified in the 'with' field automatically - ie. your template.

Autotext was going to be my suggestion as well. I set up a couple of signatures to use, one assigned to 'zz', the other assigned to 'zc'; one is formal for business, while the other is a casual sign off. Works very well.
