I currently have the 29.99 Unlimited Data package with hotspot access

My bb should arrive either tomorrow or wednesday. I was wondering as i see tmobile has a bb plan for 19.99. Maybe this has a softcap on it? So can i just keep this 29.99 unlim package and use that for the bb? As of now i use my nokia phone with usb cable for the gprs connection to my laptop. This is why i have the unlimited data package.

I didnt buy the bb from tmobile. Thats why im asking these questions. ( it is unlocked )

19.99 is an additional add-on(feature) if you have voiceplan.
29.99 is for data plan only!

So i dont understand should i drop the unlimited data plan thats 29 and get the cheaper 19.99 one or what?

Blackberry needs its own data plan, the one you have will not work with blackberry. I switched from Treo to 8700 and have to give up my grandfathered VPN internet plan ($20/mo)

As an add-on, BIS costs $20/mo, BES costs $30/mo.

If you are not sure what BES is, you probally do not need it

If you don't want the Hotspot than yes, you can get the $19.99 plan.

Now I am not aware of any voice plan that comes with unlimited text messaging and unlimited nights and weekends. You must have a old voice plan.

BY the way, I also got my BB from eBay. It's brand new, so I was offeded the $6/mo insurance.

When you get you phone, just call 611 and tell them you want to activate your BB. They need your PIN, and maybe IMEI? I got my BB service activated within 15 minutes.

the whole reason as i stated b4 in my first post was me having this so i can use the gprs on my laptop

The 19.99 plan they have is only for the hotspot access.. now if i wanna use gprs for the laptop its like 29. But then again they also offer the 19.99 plan for the bb. so if i do get this 19 plan for the bb and drop the 29.99
Will i be able to still use the gprs on my laptop or will i get outrageous data charges?

maybe the data package for 29.99 is a universal unlimited data package for any kind of device?

BB CAN NOT use regular internet plan. You HAVE TO get a BB internet plan, be it BIS ($20) or BES ($30).

As was mentioned above, you need to have the BB data plan for Internet and email access on the BB. Everything goes through BB servers so other data access plans will not work.

When you activate, you will need to give your carrier your IMEI and PIN. If you are not going to connect to a corporate BES server, then you will need to activate your BIS servce as well. T-Mo should give you the link. You will need to add your device (IMEI and PIN) and also the email addresses and passwords for all of the accounts you wish to use.

If you got your device from ebay or from someone else, you need to make sure that their accounts have been terminiated and the IMEI and PIN have been released. Otherwise your email will go someplace else, not to your BB.
