Unhappy Browser jump to hyperlink with accesskey?

Please Login to Remove!

I love my new 8703e (my first BlackBerry), but one thing keeps nagging me.

Many WAP websites have hyperlinks in the form:
2 <a accesskey=2 href="news.html">News</a>
(this is from wap.sprintusers.com/wap/)

On all my previous phone WAP browser, pressing the "2" key would immediately load the target page in the browser. This functionality appears to be missing in the BlackBerry browser. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if I understand what you are wanting to do. In a website highlight a hyperlink. Normally, if you hit the trackwheel briefly you get the menu and included in the menu is a "get link" option. You can also access the link directly by pushing and holding the trackwheel for about 1 second. Is this what you are asking? I see you're new. Welcome to the forums...

No, I mean just pressing the number associated with the hyperlink without having to scroll to it and press the trackwheel or enter key.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8703e (VZW): BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I see the OP's issue. If you access this site via your BB, you'll notice that the links at the bottom of each page are preceded by a number. When you press the corresponding number while viewing the page with most phone browsers, the link is automatically selected. This doesn't happen with the BB browser, though.

That would be nice, too.
