Ok, I cannot get this to work. I'm in the UK, on T-Mobile, and have a 8700g. I have signed up to the T-Mobile site, but cannot find anything that looks as though it will be of use, or will do anything useful (in this instance).

Anyone got any ideas?

not to be ridiculous here but if you are a TMO user and looking for Data functionality did you add the international data and voice capabilities to your device?

Nico...there's a T-Mobile UK...there's local Tmo service, even on that side of the pond. If you were a US resident, visiting England, then yes, you'd need to add what you suggested.

This doesn't work for me... I set it up this way the other week - to filter out items from me - but it still doesn't work. I even re-configured it just now after checking out this thread.

If you send a msg from your Yahoo account on Desktop, the sent email is not pushed to blackberry device. Any one know how to get these sent items.

Can you guide me step by step on how you accomplished this?

I can't seem to either A) Find the right site to log into or B) Find the right link once i'm logged in

THanks a ton!

Replace "rogers" with any service provider name and voila.

Don't mistake ease for experience.

Just that weird stuff that you notice and pick up over time. fyi...there's also a page on the Rogers site that explains BIS, and at the bottom, there's a link to "set up your e-mail". That link takes you to the site.

hi, i'm on rogers using an HTC s621 (bb connect) and BIS.

i added the filter using the BIS website. didn't stop the emails from coming.

i then added a filter to gmail, which makes all messages from "me" or "myemailaddress@gmail.com" skip the inbox and be automatically archived. still didn't work.

then i changed the gmail filter from "auto-archive" to "auto-delete" and now i don't get my sent mail on my handheld.

that was the only thing that worked.

why might the BIS filters not be working?

I have set the filters up in BIS and even the auto BCC is blank. I am still recieving my sent messages in my inbox. Hotmail account is one of them.

Any ideas? I can hide sent messages, but I'd rather not have them use my data if it is not necessary.

I'm not really familiar with BB-Connect, so I'm not sure if the problem lies within that or not.

You may consider deleting and re-adding the e-mail account in your BIS.

When you send an e-mail, the sent item will automatically show up. There's no way to prevent that. The issue that this thread addresses is when you send it, it keeps a copy of the sent item, and then sends you ANOTHER copy of the sent item (essentially bcc'ing you).

The issue you describe is not something you can "fix".

This only started happening when I got my Pearl. On my 8700 it never happened. So something had to have changed with the OS.

It happened on my 8700 all the time. In fact, I created this thread when I had an 8700. Probably just a coincidence yours didn't.

HI There...

I followed this example exactly as outlined above. For some reason, I'm not receiving any gmail messages to my BBerry now.

Using the Pearl and BIS with T-Moblie.

Suggestions?

Is there an advantage/disadvantage to this method VS the one below?

setup a filter in Gmail
Code:
Matches from:(-whatever@gmail.com)
Do this: Forward to: whatever@tmo.blackberry.net

Then make your "reply to" address your Gmail on your BIS.

Is either way better than the other?

To PressureDrop:

What you're asking the filter to do is forward e-mail to your BB e-mail address. The advice given here is to keep the POP functions of your G-mail intact, while removing this issue.

OK so what is the advantage/disadvantage to keeping the POP functions of Gmail on the BlackBerry?
I guess I will have to try this way and the way I pictured above and see if I can find anything different in the end result

If you forward to your tmo handheld address, when you reply, it will look like it comes from that address. Not your G-mail.

All mail I send shows reply to my Gmail. Then at the bottom it says "Sent via Zac's BlackBerry" so I guess that is either a plus or a minus to most everyone that a difference can be seen.

Here is a test message from my BlackBerry to my home email:
Quote:
-------- Original Message --------
Subject: Test
Date: Sun, 29 Apr 2007 20:43:24 +0000
From: Zac Xxxxx <xxxxx@gmail.com>
Reply-To: [email address]
To: Zac Xxxxx <xxxxx@gmail.com>

Testing

Sent via Zac's BlackBerry
Unless someone is looking at full on headers I guess the difference is my sig.

ok, so i know i probably shouldn't be posting this here because i'm not a blackberry user (gasp) and i apologize in advance. but i am having this exact same issue, and since i don't use bb service, i use pop3 thru outlook on my ppc. so gmail works great, but i keep getting items that i sent as new mail. unfortunately the fix you've listed only works for bb users. is there any other way to fix this? filtering results in gmail (similar to how you have it setup on your bb site) didn't work at all. i hoped it would... but it didn't. thanks in advance.

you could also download the g-mail app from Google Mobile
similarly, yahoo offers yahoo go! at Y! Go

these apps offer the ability to read, compose and manage your mailbox, similar to the bb mail app (but obviously, with some differences)

Both links should be accessed on your bb browser.
