instead of adding your gmail account to BIS, if you go into gmail settings and set your account to forward messages to your BIS address, you wont get this sent mail "echo".

Default On a BES - 06-27-2008, 10:30 PM

OK - so I have a work phone, and am on a BES. I have a gmail account set up as my personal email on the phone. I cannot figure out how to quit getting these "sent" messages. Does anyone know how to fix this problem under my circumstances?

That didn't work - believe me, I wouldn't have bothered asking the question if I hadn't already tried the obvious. Any other suggestions? I am on a BES, not BIS.

So, you are on a BES for your work email AND you have a BIS account for your personal mail on your BB correct? That's two separate systems. You have BES for work and BIS for personal. It's possible that all your sentBIS mail still goes through your work (BES) account, that's a popular IT policy restriction. If that's the case then the signature is located on the device in Messages >Options >Email Settings.

If your company does not force all your sent mail through your BES account then the procedure in this thread would be what you use.

Where do you change the phone model. I'm a blackberry newbie so I'm not sure where to navigate to find all options yet. I only get the edit and delete options in the email settings for my gmail account. I would like to be able to filter the sent messages to not appear in my inbox.

Thanks.

When I went in there, it was a whole different ballgame. Set up the filter and all is well.

Thanks for your patience, and hopefully this can help a future confused person!

Are the sent messages from you gmail account, personal account, BES account, all? What does the icon next to these messages look like?

I you have your work email and perosnal and gmail then you're on BES and BIS. BES by itself only supports one mail account.

This maybe a noobish question, but I forgot I had already set up everything on cingulars site for my BIS and I went to the forgot password link, and it sent me my password/username again, and I see that I've been sent a message, but can't find out for the lift of me, where it was sent to.

Yur suggestions look like they sure should work, but I continue to have the same problem, despite following your instructions to a T for my Verizon BB Curve. Any clues you could throw me?
Thanks for your help,

For ATT: If you activated your BIS account on the phone and not the BIS website, you will have to contact support and have them set up an account with your name on the BIS site. Use the chat feature on ATT website for quickest response. Once the account is set up you can validate your current email accounts and then set up the filters on the BIS site.

These were my experiences at least. That said, the procedure works as advertised.

I got the following problem with my corporate account:

If using GMAIL spam filter for corporate addresses (BIS) does it then deliver to device ALL emails or just inbox?
