Default Making an HTTP request via a WAP 2.0 gateway as "Carrier WAP Gateway"

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I posted this request on the RIM developer site, and am posting it here as well to see if anyone can help.

The info on the Blackberry developer site (I'm not able to include the URL here due to restrictions of this forum... also applies for "...url..." below) indicates that you can use the form (HttpConnection)Connector.open(“...url...;
WAPGatewayIP=127.0.0.1;WAPGatewayAPN=carrier.com. gprs”); to send an HTTP request through a carrier WAP gateway.

Does anyone know if this includes a WAP 2.0 gateway (i.e. basically operating as a normal HTTP proxy)? Or, is there another way to specify a WAP 2.0 gateway or HTTP proxy to be used instead of a WAP 1.x gateway (if the URL format above only applies to WAP 1.x gateways).

I have a developer who needs to use our WAP 2.0 gateway and the format above is not working.

When I type this into the browser directly, I get "Unable to connect to the WAP gateway at the following address..." though I know that the address, port, and APN are valid. When I use the correct WAP1 gateway address/port, it does work, so I know that the format is correct at least for WAP1. But it does not work for WAP2.

Many thanks
