Hi all,

My boss would like to clear all of the email off of his black berry without the email coming off his outlook. We are using the BES 3.6 version and I just reinstalled it after upgrading to Exchange 2003. I have already tried turning off the radio on the unit, but after it comes back on, the email deletes. I have also tried to disable redirection from the BES with no luck as well.

Anyone have any thought?

In my Lotus world, we would just select "Delete on Handheld" rather than "Delete on Handheld and Mailbox" from the BlackBerry and it won't delete out of Notes.

Or you can highlight a date band on the BlackBerry and select "Delete Prior". This option...at least on a Lotus 2.2 BES will NOT touch the mailfile.

Delete Prior *NEVER* deletes the e-mail off of a server; Exchange, Notes, GW or BWC. It is the quickest way to wipe out e-mail only on the BB.

And if you want to be TOTALLY thorough, you can plug the BlackBerry into the PC, open up the Backup/Restore tool, click advanced, select messages in the right side list, then click the clear button. That will totally wipe the message database.
