Is there any way to access BIS account thru Outlook?
I have a blackberry BIS account [firstname.lastname@example.org]
Whenever I have loads of unread emails which I have accessed thru outlook I log into my BIS account webpage and put all those emails into another folder instead of manually doing it on blackberry.
I was wondering if anyone had settings for the BIS account to be accessed thru Outlook.
I understand that the BIS account is IMAP account but I havent been able to find out its settings for Outlook.
The answer is: No.
It's web-based only.
Where did the spam come from the carrier? I have never had spam on the mycingular.blackberry.net . Maybe just lucky
Maybe this is what you want. From the Blackberry tutorial web site:
By assigning your service providerxxx8217;s BlackBerry Internet Service web site to a folder in Outlook, you can quickly access the BlackBerry Internet Service without having to open an Internet browser.
Note: This feature enables you to access the BlackBerry Internet Service through Outlook, but it will not enable you to import messages to Outlook.
To assign the BlackBerry Internet Service to an Outlook folder
If the Folder List is not visible, click the View menu and select Folder List.
From the Folder List, right-click the Inbox and select New Folder.
In the Name field, type BlackBerry Internet Service.
Make sure the Folder contains field is set to Mail and Post Items, then click OK.
From the Folder List, right-click the BlackBerry Internet Service folder and select Properties.
Click the Home Page tab.
In the Address field, type the address to your service providerxxx8217;s BlackBerry Internet Service web site.
Note: To find your service providerxxx8217;s BlackBerry Internet Service web site, visit the Support section on BlackBerry.
Select the Show home page by default for this folder check box, then click OK.
To access the BlackBerry Internet Service in Outlook
From the Folder List, click the BlackBerry Internet Service folder. The BlackBerry Internet Service web site appears.
Log in to your BlackBerry Internet Service account.
thankyou for the suggestion but my concern is different.
I run a small business and to go to BES i need to pay $3000 for the software lisence from my service provider to link blackberry service with Enterprise server.
I talked to my service provider if I could take BES servie and get web hosted server thru credit card but that is also not allowed for some reason.
I get 60+ emails a day and in office I go thru them on my computer but when I get home I have to mark all these emails as read and put them in folders.
I thought of using gmail or hotmail but then I cant use my company email. I thought of finding the blackberry BIS webmail settings and putting them in outlook like u can for gmail or hotmail. But so far i cant seem to find any way.
Is there any other suggestion that might get the work done without dishing out $3000 for the software?
