Ok, my company uses BES 3.6. Our TMO rep sent me a 7230, we have to call him back to order service for it. It's not for use as a phone, just e-mail, web surfing, and I'd like to be able to IM on it.

Is the $39 unlimited data plan enough? Should I add unlimited sms messages and use the free IM program, or should I just pay the annual fee for one of the other IM programs, and that will run under the unlmited data plan?

I'm in NYC btw, in case that matters, and it does have to be TMobile. Basically I have a TMO Sidekick right now, I'd like this 7230 to replace it for everything but phone, and then I'll get myself a new phone and new personal plan.

If you are planning to do lots of IM'ing, you will suck up the 300 SMS messages that comes with the $39 BB+BES data plan really quickly. TMO only offers the unlimited SMS every once in a while, and not right now (unless your rep can get it for you). I would go with one of the other IM programs.
