Had this problem after exchnage client Tasks folder was corrupted. Deleted user from BES, unloaded desktop software, offlined emails to pst file then deleted entire email and AD account. Re-added user to AD, mail enabled account, added user to BES then updated over wireless.
This was after esculating to service provider and RIM with no joy from their support teams!
