Default How do I set a default 'Send Using' account on my Berry?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

I currently get my work e-mail and Gmail on my Blackberry. When composing messages, it always says 'Send Using: [Default]' - but I have no idea what that default is. How can I set the default to be my work address?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
JK

You didn't mention what device/vendor, but for an 8700c (Cingular):
Settings --> Options --> Advanced Options --> Message Services
Hit the space bar until the default address appears (or hit the [Alt] key to display the entire list to select from).

If you're on a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server), Desktop is your Enterprise email (and typically the default).

Thanks Jerry.

I have a BlackBerry 8700v on Vodafone, in the UK. I am on BIS, not BES.

Am I correct in thinking that I should change "Messaging (CMIME):" to my work account? I figured it was this setting, but CMIME sounded too technical, so for fear of breaking it, I decided to not to change anything until I know for sure that this is the setting I should change. Is that correct?

Thanks for your help!

JK

That's it.

You can always note the setting and change it back if you're not sure.

Depending on the OS version you're running, the device will "learn" which email address you like to use for particular contacts and the "default" email address will change depending on whom you're emailing.

I wonder what version your talking about. This seems to easy and a lot of people have tried to do this without much success.

I cannot get my BB8800 to Send using: Desktop (BES), it still keeps reverting to Default after verifying that it is set to Desktop under Option | Adv | Messaging Svcs.

This starting happening after changing my 8800 to a new unit using the BB Manager Switch Device Wizard...

I also tried re-activating from BES as well to with no luck...

Help please.

Wirelessly posted (NXTL7520: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

My only resolution: I had to del my acct from the BES totally and re-add it, then perform another activation.

P.s. I also delt with dups showing in msg list as well at one point!
