Question "My Phone" displays wrong #

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

My new Blackberry (7230) was recycled from a previous owner and I was given a new phone #. When I click on phone, the phone # displayed next to "My Phone" is incorrect. How do I change this to display my real phone #. I have no problem receiving calls so I know the # works.

Thanks, Brian

You need OS4 to make the change. Its under options - SIM card

No you don't need 4.0 to fix this. Perform a master radio reset on the device and then register it with the network. Call the phone number of the device and it will program in.

Im sure you can manually edit the Phone number to appear on the device.

The phone number is stored on the sim and not obtained from the network. if you click Settings > SimCard, then click the wheel button and select Edit Sim Phone Number. Enter in the new number and save the changes.

When you go back into the Call Log your correct number will appear

If not then you will need to place the sim into a Sony Ericcson phone and edit the My Number field.

Talking Newbie 7100g x2 No "My number"

Thanks to all. I ended up calling Cingular tech support. they had me reboot the phones by removing the batteries and the Sims cards. They then retransmitted the authorization codes. Now we know. Thanks for the help. I'm glad I found the forum.
