Default Mail Reconciliation Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have a blackberry 7250 connected to a BES. The issue i am having is that when i read mail in my inbox (lotus notes) it still shows unread on my blackberry. And if i read it on my blackberry i will still show unread in my inbox. If i delete a message on either blackberry or inbox it will delete from the other. I have the following options set:

Delete On: Handheld
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins

Is there anything I can do so that when i view a message in my inbox or blackberry it will showed view on the other one

Thanks

You could always try "Reconcile Now" from your Messages menu.

Welcome to the forums....

First problem I see is you need to change "Delete On" to either "prompt" or "mailbox and handheld" in order for deletions to be reconciled on the server.

The other most common problem is personal folders on your PC for your email. If you read mail in your inbox are you reading from personal folders or are you reading directly from the inbox on the server? If your new mail automatically drops from the inbox to a personal folder inbox then when you delete it it probably won't be deleted on your BB. IT folks like to set up personal folders on client computers because it frees up their mail server space.

The mail is on a server in the inbox if that helps your question. I will change the setting to mailbox and handheld to see if that helps. Thanks

that will help to delete from the server when you delete from the BB. I'm not sure what the problem is going the other way. It's probably a good question for your BES admin/IT dept.

Edit: Also, keep in mind that reconciles don't happen right away. They can take a while. It's not instant like sending and receiving emails. You can hit reconcile now to do it immediately.

The delete is happening both ways when i do the reconcile now it is just the unread mail is not changing either way. Thanks for your help. I have contacted the BES Admin and they are no help.. They did a reactivation and still doing the same thing.

The problem is most likely in Lotus Notes.

Go to your workspace, right click on your mail file and choose Database > Properties. Then, click on the advanced tab (I think it is the last one). You're looking for an option that says:

Replicate Unread Marks

It is probably set to Never. Just change that to All Servers and you should be good!
