Attachment viewing is not supported by the Desktop Redirector. You will either need to use a BES (or hosted BES solution) or the BWC, which allows for some attachments to be viewed.

Short answer: you can't. There's nothing in the redirector to process the attachments.

The e-mails (w/attachments) must come from either the web client or a BES server. Both convert the attachment into a "light" version that the Blackberry can read.

Quick fix: forward the e-mail to your BWC account (if you've set one up.) When it comes back you can read the attachments.

Default Bwc?

Hey all,
I'm trying to do something similar. I'm trying to get Excel, files to be converted to be properly viewable on a 7290 BB.

My Question, what do you mean by BWC? Is this a service?

Thanks!

BWC is the Blackberry Web Client. Your carrier should have provided you with an account with your Blackberry service. This is usually an e-mail address that looks like this:

(youpickaname)@(carrier).blackberry.net

For those emails that contains attachments, forward to your @blackberry.net email address that came for free with your BlackBerry (That's the BWC address) .... Or use BES to combine the advantages of Redirector with the advantages of wireless sync/attachments/no need to leave computer on.
