Default Blackberry 8700g software question

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
Guys i need help as i am a newbie.
I bought BB 8700g and I do not have any data plan and no internet service on it. I am just using this phone for my personal use( to make/receive calls). I would like to change the main screen image and ring tones using my USB data cable. What software are good and can be used directly with my BB ? What other software i can use with my BB 8700g ? Remember , I do not have WES , no data plan and no internet on my BB 8700g.

Thanks in advance.

Without a data plan you ONLY have a phone and text messaging machine....

You can add the T-mo data plan for $19.95 a month, download / email the stuff you want then cancel the data plan (cost you like .80 cents for a days usage) as a last ditch option...

Strongly suggest you get BB data plan. As it is now, you have a fine flying machine - a spaceship even - and you are limiting yourself to sitting in the pilot seat on the runway. Get the data plan and take off.

It's going to be dependent on the BB getting to their website..... No can do without a data plan.....

Same as if you upload images to photobucket..... The BB MUST then be able to get to the site to view and/or download the images....

Lunkhead is correct. You can't get that stuff on to your BB without a BDP (Blackberry Data Plan.)

What he said. And what the other poster said: Without data plan, you have a phone, and you can sync with your calendar etc on your PC (if you want). There are, of course, apps that you can download on the PC and install on the BB, but you are not going to do any other data sending and receiving without a data plan (so far as I know).

I see lunkhead's post, and I wasn't aware of the apps you mention (still not). Your interests are differnt from mine. Every thing I'm interested in is not possible without data plan. Can't be of much help.

I have the software but remember that it is a trial version and you can buy the full version if it works on your BB.

What is the model of your BB ?

Ok friends, I found one more software (AscendoPhoto) to transfer picture directly from PC to BB using USB data cable. I installed this software on my PC and installed on BB using BB desktop manager and it works great. I have BB 8700g model.

(Nevermind -- this turned out to be redundant as apps that will transfer files have already been mentioned)
