After getting the run around for the last 4 days and talking to RIM and T-mobile's BlackBerry Division I have gotten the answer I needed.
You can now have the BlackBerry Data Plan added to SmartAccess Plans. If the store tells you that you can't direct them to the 800 Support Number. I had gotten the Pearl and when it wasn't connecting to the BIS server I called the store and they told me " were sorry but you can't have that feature on the SmartAccess Plans. So either you can keep the phone with limited capabilities or return it." I returned it becasue I wasn't gonna pay $300 for a BlackBerry with no data capabilities. Now I get a call from the T-Mobile BlackBerry Support telling me they were wrong and it is available and to return to the store and get my Pearl back. Upon going to the store they stood their ground saying it wont work. (BTW I am still in my 14 day return period) so now I am waiting for the Manager to get in contact with me to see what he can do. I miss my Pearl :(
So if you want a BlackBerry and are on the SmartAccess now you can do it.
