Default Wireless calendar sync and Private appointments

Please Login to Remove!

I want to sync my BlackBerry Calendar wirelessly with Outlook, but when I set up BlackBerry Wireless Sync as my Calendar conduit, the "Private" field on the BlackBerry is not mapped to anything on Outlook, and I cannot create a filter based on the Private flag. (I am using BB Desktop Manager 4.2.0.14 and Outlook 2003.)

Will an appointment whose "Private" flag is set on my BlackBerry be copied to Outlook when I activate Wireless Sync, or will the Private appointment be skipped? What about Private appointments on Outlook?

Is there any other way to keep certain appointments on my BlackBerry from being copied to Outlook when I sync wirelessly?

Thanks.

If you are using BIS, you can't have wireless synch with going to a 3rd party provider such as Exchangemymail.com. I suggest you do a search on "wireless Synch" and check out the posts. You will find some good info.

If you are on BES, I think wireless synch can be done. Again, do the search for more info.

As for keeping private and business appointments on outlook, I do not think that is possible.

If you're on a corporate BES, I wouldn't recommend thinking that your private-flagged items are actually private...

As I recall, the BES has to be a certain version (3.7?) to support the private flag for wireless sync.

Michael G.: Ah, that must be the problem. I know that my company has an obsolete version of BES.

Takeshi: Does that apply to wired sync as well? Are my private-flagged items actually private if I set the "Exclude Private" filter for the calendar and address-book conduits? (Indeed, the items don't appear in Outlook after I sync.)
