Hi everyone
I have just purchased a blackberry 7230. I am having trouble sending SMS messages. I can recieve them and also make and recive calls but cant send messages. It just keeps coming up with a red cross. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG????
Also what is the desktop manger used for
Sorry about all of this but please i need some help

Do you have text messaging enabled on your account? Call your carrier and check.

Desktop manager is used to add applications and to synch the calender, contacts, tasks and memos on your PC (i.e. Outlook) with the Blackberry. Check out the FAQs. It will explain many things.

I would also have your service provider resend the service books to your BB You can call them and they can do it over the phone...

The red X indicates you cannot sent the message.
as stated before, check to see if you have the service. You did not mention the carrier but they can block different services. You can send email can't you?

I'm not sure that resending service books will help with an SMS issue. SMS can be sent and received even without a Blackberry data plan.
