Default Go into Address Book will activate bluetooth headset

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I've got a 7290 and Jabra BT250, noticed that when I get into the Address Book, the BT250 will get into active mode (the blue light blinks every second). Even when I quit the Address Book the headset remains in active mode which will drain more battery. However, get into the address book again will deactivate the headset (blue link blinks every 3 second).

Did anyone experience the same thing (or with other bluetooth headset)?

Thanks,
..ngfo

I noticed the same thing with my BT200 and 7290. If I remember correctly, it only stays active for about 10 seconds or so and then goes inactive again even if you stay in the address book.

This has not happened to my 7520 yet and I use the BT250.

In my case, the bluetooth headset stays at activate mode.

Since I had the chance, I timed it. It goes active for only 5 seconds when I go in to the address book, but it doesn't always go active. I haven't figured out the pattern for when it does and when it doesn't.

Just for the purpose of tracking, this is with the following:
Handheld: 7290
OS: v4.0.0.198 (Platform 1.8.0.121)

I actually haven't had a problem with it going active when I go into the address book specifically, but I've had another problem that may be related...

I think I posted this elsewhere, but in my case, it seems that when I had "Dial from Home Screen" turned OFF in my phone options, the keys that would normally dial a phone number (ie, the number keys) will still activate the headset. This naturally includes keys that are shortcuts for other things (such as "C" for compose, which is also the "9" key). Pressing a subsequent key (or the same key a second time) from the home screen will in turn deactivate the headset.

You can try this with a key that is not mapped to a shortcut (such as the Z/7 key) -- the first press will activate the headset, and then a second press (wait about two seconds) will deactivate the headset.

I first encountered it when composing new messages from the home screen, which was fairly annoying until I figured out why it was doing this. Now I just either use the scroll wheel, or use Z-C to compose new messages (Z activates the headset, and then C deactivates the headset and goes to the Compose Message screen).
