Default Using blackberry as modem...goes through BES?

Please Login to Remove!

I know if you use the Blackberry browser you go through your internal network if you are on a BES. The regular browser and WAP goes through your provider. Am I correct?

And what about when you plug your BB into your laptop and use it as a modem, which network are you going through?

When you attach your blackberry to the computer and use it as a modem it is connecting to the Provider Network. It does not have anything to do with BES at that time.

used my 8707 in brasil with TIM prepaidcard for email and pin to pin, cost allmost nothing!GPRS must show up with big letters.all perfect!
then used it(roaming) as modem with spanish contract sim:data was only 52kbt.to my laptop.email+pin to pin ok skype shat only.
my old bb 7100s worked the same way as modem without new installation.
if working as modem GPRS must show up in small letters:"gprs".
the big end come when been home the bill from provider was more the 400$US.

From experience. When you tether your BlackBerry you are using the provider connection, not the BES server.
