There are several differences worth mentioning....

Size, the 7100 series is suretype, not a full qwerty keyboard. Now I Have had both suretype & qwerty keyboard blackberries. I have always come back to the Qwerty, I can't stand suretype, but a lot of people love it. Qwerty is a bigger device, 7100 is slimline.

As for speed and such, the 7100 is newer, so it has a little bit of faster speed, but I am not sure if it is a big difference.

I hope this helps!

Wirelessly posted (7130e: BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

If you're going to do more typing than talking than I would go for the 7290 since it has the full keyboard. You do get use to the suretype keyboard quick but you have to double check yourself for errors.

If you need quick answers a forum is the worst place to ask as there's no guarantee that you'll get a response.

You haven't really supplied any information to help narrow down your choice. However, it mostly comes down to whether you want the SureType or full qwerty keyboard. That's a difficult decision or recommendation to make if you haven't used both keyboards for at least a couple of weeks to get comfortable with each one though...

The 7100's have a speakerphone which the 7290's are lacking. Some prefer the "portrait" orientation of the 7100's screen to the "landscape" orientation of the 7290. The 7100's screen scratches extremely easily but this is also easily remedied with a screen protector (get one right away if you take that option). IIRC the 7100's screen is more difficult to read in daylight.

I'm in Houston. It's not too common but there is a somewhat known Japanese director with the name. I don't think I've ever met another...
