We are having an issue with quite a few of our handheld devices where it hangs/freezes every few minutes. I will be using my 8703E from Sprint and every few minutes, the send/receive arrows start flashing, and the icons start moving around, during which time I cannot do anything with the device. After about 30 seconds, my device functions like normal.

I have had this exact issue with my old Nextel 7520, and now I have it with my new Sprint 8703e. A few others with Sprint 7130e are also having this issue.

We recently migrated from an old BES server to a newer faster one for other reasons, but the problem has carried over to it also. We are currently running BES version 4.0.4.6.

Any ideas? Its frickin annoying as hell...specially when you're in the middle of an intense Brickbreaker session

I had that issue with my Verizon 8703e, I had to do a complete wipe (including the OS using javaloader) and then I put everything back on it, it works like a charm now. I don't know what caused it to wack out, but all I know is the wipe fixed it...maybe an option for you.

(make sure to backup the data though)

I've had the issue reoccur even after complete wipes. I think the problem may have something to do with reconciliation, since the up/down arrows start flashing when this happens (or IT policy?)

It may very well be the IT Policy...that is really weird.

IT policy's can cause a bunch of problems...Maybe someone else on the forums has an answer...

did you do a complete wipe? OS and all?

I have noticed that on and off with my bb. Do you think low memory has anything to do with it?

We don't have any explicit policies set, and honestly I don't know much about the policy feature. Yes, I did a complete wipe, both on the old 7520 and my 8703e.

Are you using it with BES also?

Just checked and the IT Policy is set to the deafult, and resend is set to every 12 hours.

Are you running any applications that need to, periodically, renew their connection? (i.e. Instant Messaging applications)

Outdated applications could cause a problem. I guess it pays to periodically check vendor sites for updates.

I've noticed mine reboots its self sometimes when I am using telenav. I only have that app running anytime I use it and yet it still turns off.

i have the same problem with my telenav
