is there a reason for the fax # coming up as a choice when i hit the green key on my 8700 when i want to call a contact with only home # and fax#?

when would i ever dial the fax from my bb?

seems to be a waste of time !

That is weird...when I go to my address book I can choose which number I want my BB to call...not sure why it is causing you to choose the fax.

Are you dialing for your history logs? or from the Address book?

The only thing I can think of is if your dialing from the call log, perhaps at some point you accidently dialed the fax...or the address book has the entry backwards?

This may be totally wrong, if so I am sorry :/

no

what i mean is that if i go to address book and select my contact and press green "call" key all # show up....ex.home , cell, office, fax etc. and then i select the #.

but i dont know why the fax # shows up at all...especially if there is only home and fax.

if it wasnt an option it would connect right away to the only # if there was only 1 #

i need the fax # for reference but not as an option to dial is my point.

why is the sky blue? that's just how it is. choose home and you're set.

I agree that you wouldn't want to call a fax from your handset but who knows. If it didn't give you the choice, then someone would complain that it should. So that's just how it is.

Oh! I am such an idiot.

Got it...hmmm...maybe there is some 3rd party software that implements that? Seems to be a 3rd party software for everything

Ha. Who knows. I guess it gives it to you for reference. *shrug*

you could always put the fax number in the notes section of the contact, that way you have it and it's not a choice for when you make a call.

Remember your BB will default to the last number you called for that contact, so it should not be highlighting the fax # (unless you have never called it and it is by default the first number listed, or you have called it before from your BB).

No kididng. I'm sure someone out there stores some phone number in the fax field and would be upset if it didn't offer fax as an option.

Again, it will default to the last used number so it's not really a big deal.
