Bit of a weird one for you, had this niggling question in my head for a while, been trying to find an answer but had no luck yet.
I have 25 BB's connected to a dedicated BES server with Domino. The BB's have been great since introducing them last year. Our whole company runs with Lotus Notes and not Exchange, I like notes, but its very fussy.
With the replication of the mail file my 25 Blackberry users also have laptops running Lotus Notes for mail and other databases. I have a firewall which block all unknown IP's so the laptops use a normal ISP connection and my VPN client to connect to my network and replicate their mail files and databases.
Getting back to actual question.....
I have looked into the options you get when connecting the blackberry to the laptop to use it as a modem, but as many other people point out, the web browser on the BB uses the BES connection, so does this mean i can use it as a network connection?
My main point is, can i connect my BB to the laptop and use it as a network connection and replicate my mail files? saving me loads of hassle with phone bills, VPN connections and annoyed laptop users? All i need to do is see my main Domino server
Cheers
Scott
