Default newbie needs help connecting to the internet

Please Login to Remove!

i just got a 8700v and i need help connecting my device to the intenernet.

according to the manual, i have to set up email by clicking 'mobile email', although i cannot find the optino at all

(im in the uk on vodafone)

Look for the icon SETUP INTERNET EMAIL... that is if you are connecting via BB Internet Service.

okay.

do i need to call my provider and get blackberry internet solution before that icon appears?

sorry if i sound dumb, i am just new to this!

it is saying 'data connection refused' at the moment, i have turned the wireless on.

Do you have a data plan??
No icon will be displayed, as the system doesn't know your there!!!

i now have a data plan. but still no email set up button.. only 'enterprise activation'

Did you power off your Blackberry after they updated and added the Data plan??
you should try that next.

yes, i completely took the battery out.

it now says 'vodafone' instead of the no data thing, but i still see no option for email set up or browser

Alternatively, you should be able to log on to your account at Vodaphone and create the BIS. You should be sent a service book which allows the email set up. When you purchased the BB data plan, did they tell you it may take a few hours for activation to occur? Normally, I have gotten an e-mail from the provider indicating the activation has occurred, I just don't know how Vodaphone operates.

log into what vodafone account where?

i tried to register for vodafone email but it won't sent me the text message to confirm my code.

i had a text message confirming i was connected to the wireless service..

welcome, you'll find lots of help here with further questions, and there is always the search feature to use first. Most any problems you encounter have likely been encountered by another, and the question answered on here.

thanks. yeah i did search and look at a lot of other topics before posting -- im a regular message board user so i know about reading stickies/rules/searching etc.
