Default Internet question

Hey Guys,

So correct me if im wrong but I know this probably has been asked a million times. but im going to try this out. If I got a blackberry, would it be possible to set it up using cingular way, with an unlimited media max package, and then use wap for browsing Ie use opera mini like I would on a normal cell phone and then use the gmail app for all of my email needs, since i have used that and prefer it to normal bb email app.

Or does the bb need to use its own servers any time it wants to use the internet?

Just a random thought I had while using my normal cell phone for email.

You have to have a BB data plan for email and Internet. No BB data plan, no Internet or email.

Just to restate what was said above.... NO BB data plan means no email or internet...

Without a data plan you can make phone calls, SMS, and PIN.... That's it!

I did a little research and I think I found the ketch... because boost does not give a BB dataplan (I cant access certain BB-plan-only features)

Boost mobile only supports iDEN (I have a BB 7510 iDEN), which is heavily dependant on TCP/IP (to the point that you get limited WAP access (to their re-boost service) without even paying for it) so, anything that doesnt check the "servicebook" (which I assume is a listing of BB-specific servers on a carrier) Boost just says "ok, I'll accept your request, I wont bother to check and see if you're a BB or a cellphone."

I can use sharkmodem with my BB without even dialing up, which I've had to do on all my _phones_ so I assume that unless the BB's software checks to see if the data comming in is on a BB plan, it doesn't care.

and yes, Boost is Nextel's Prepaid service, $10 a month for unlimited cellular internet! (well a little more than that now, but still, point remains, it's the cheepest cellular data plan out there! though most areas it's 14.4 kbps, if you're in a WiDEN area, it's app 200kbps!) otehrwise $0.10 a minute night/weekend/other boost customers, $0.20 a minute anytime, and $2.50 per day for PTT per person you PTT.
