I am having an issue with Desktop manager, whenever it launches and through use a "Windows Installer" window with progress bar will flash very quickly for a few seconds.

Then the real issue... my connection to the blackberry through USB within desktop manager goes in and out. Sometimes I can detect the blackberry, most of the time I can't.

The blackberry shows up fine in the device manager, the USB connection issue definitely seems too related to the "Windows Installer" window that flashes very quickly and goes away.

I have tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling desktop manager. This also only happens in 1 Windows user account, if I use a different Windows user account I don't get the Windows Installer error, and the blackberry detects fine through USB.

I'm going nuts trying to figure this out.

it also pops up with a window "preparing to install" :( WHAT IS GOING ON

It's definitely a user profile issue. Have you tried deleting and re-creating the Windows profile?
