If you set the unit to Auto Off at night is there a way to turn it on in the middle of the off cycle?

Example:

Auto off @ 10:00pm
Auto on @ 6:00am

How can I manually turn on the unit @ 4:00am?

Your profile says you have a 7290; on the lower right hand part of the keyboard there is a key with a sun (*) on it. It is the power on/power off key. I am pretty sure that if you press and hold it, it will power up in the middle of the Auto off cycle.

That is correct. I have an 8703e and it's the same case.

I have a follow up question.

let's assume you have an alarm setup.

auto off 10pm
auto on 7am
BUT you have alarm at 6am.

question: does your BB turn on at 6am for the alarm? or at 7am and ignores the alarm?

That is pretty simple to test yourself, but yes, it will. Your alarm setting will override the off feature.
