Sold my BB.. question on removing things
 
I just sold my old BB 7130. Before i give it out, i want to make sure i clear personal info from it.
how can i do that?
i.e.
1. gmail account? - how do i clear?
2. other memories
3. passwords - i've deleted all entries, but is it truly removed? or do i need to format / flash memory?

finally, if i want to just remove everything and restore factory settings, how can i do that?

>Options >Security Options >General Settings >Click the wheel and select "wipe handheld." That will wipe all user data and leave the apps and OS intact.

To put it back to factory settings you can wipe with JL_CMDER and reload the OS from scratch. This takes a little more time, however.

Thinking of whomever purchases your BB I recommend calling your carrier and cancelling any BIS accounts you have so that the PIN is not associated with an old account when the new user wants to sign up for BIS. He/She will be on this forum looking for how to get registered when the BB is already registered under another account.

Also, if you look in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum there is a good sticky on what to do if you are buying or selling a used BB.

I had a BES account with my old work place.. I no longer work there, so can i assume that's all taken care of?

I had gmail etc.. but I've cancelled my data plan all together.. wouldn't that cancell any BIS accounts?

Please elborate on how to cancel a bIS account?.. i.e. do i just call Rogers, and say "pls cancel my BIS account"?

Did you have restrictions on your BB? It will have an IT policy on it and when the next user goes to use it whatever restrictions were in place will still be in place.

Do a search for "remove IT policy" for further info on that.

You would think so but it almost never does. You need to ask their data support to delete your BIS account and to make sure that the PIN is released.
