Once I enter my 'password keeper' password i get the following msg "A password entry created on **/**/2006 is protected by an old password. Please enter the old password to convert the entry"

Have you seen this before? How would I be able to over write or recover my data?

You updated the OS or restored the data. Just use the same old password.

Always seems to happen with an upgrade

never reset the pw and didnt upgrade the os.
any other ideas?

This language has come up every time I have done an OS upgrade. I enter the old password, and everything is great.

I have the exact same problem after upgrading to an 8830 from a 7250. The old password does not work on the 8830, but works just fine on the old 7250, so I know I am typing it correctly. Not using any alt or shift chars - very plain 4 char password.

I cleared the database from the 8830, deleted the desktop sync service book so I could restore the database from the 7250 backup, and I have the same result again. I have tried an empty password as well.

I was going to try going into each password entry on the 7250 and saving to see if it would update the password association to be with the current password. The amount of work that would be almost makes it not worth the effort.

Any other things to try?

Oops - solved my own problem. Turns out the 7250 and 8830 have slightly different keys. I was using the "0" (zero) key (but not pressing ALT) on the 7250, which is also the shift key (which means it really wasn't part of the password). On the 8830, the "0" key is ONLY the 0, meaning it is a 0 even if you do NOT press the ALT key. So there you have it. Doh!
