I am working on a 7290, and anytime I remove and reinsert the battery, I get an error on bootup:
"Uncaught Exception: CNR"
I've searched but found nothing. Does anyone know what this is related to?
I'd say it needs a wipe! Use d_fisher's JL_Cmder in my sig to wipe the BB. Be sure Desktop Manager is not running while you are using JL_Cmder. Once you get a 507 error on the screen, it's wiped.
Download and install the latest 7290 OS.
delete the vendor.xml file in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader.
Then plug in the BB, run DM, select USB from the connection menu at the top (pin may not be listed, that's ok) and then run Application Loader.
You should get a fresh install of the OS.

I had the 507 error. I installed the OS and deleted the vendor file. Now I connected my BB through the usb and started the app loader but it asks me to add what application I want to add. Can someone guide me through or is there a posting here that can be of help.

Thanks d_fisher for creating this tool and John for pointing me to it. I screwed up my BB this morning and wasn't able to find much about fixing the CNR error anywhere else, but this tool helped me get it wiped. I successfully reloaded the OS and am restoring from my last backup now. This saved me a lot of time and aggravation.
