Searching this forum, I found a thread where another user was unable to add an Avatar to his profile at one point.

When I go to the User Control Panel, I don't have an option to Edit Avatar under any of the sections. I also tried the direct link in the other post, but don't get an option to change the settings that say "don't use an avatar".

One post noted the user hadn't confirmed registration. Could that that be the issue in my case? If so, is there any place I straighten that out now?

Not confirming your registration is most likely the issue. A Mod should be able to help you out with that.

Once you are confirmed just go to user CP and edit Avatar.

Brucejr is correct. You need to confirm registration with the email sent out during registration.

If you need the activation email sent out again click on Contact Us at the top right of the page. Then choose Not Receiving Activation Email fro mthe menu.
