Default Using it in West Africa

I'm about to head off to West Africa - primarlly Ghana and Bukina-Faso - for two weeks. What must I do or change or anticipate in order to use my 8700 series Blackberry there - both as a phone and for e-mail.

Every carrier has a web site that details were they have roaming agreements. Check with your carrier on specific roaming agreements AND COSTS - so that you are not surprised with high roaming charges (both voice and data).

All of African countries do have a cell phone network such as GMS. Both West African countries don't have a data network system. The only African countries provide the data network systems are South Africa (very EXCELLENT coverage), Egypt, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria and Senegal. Zimbabwe will roll out a 3G network next month and will be one of 3 African countries ever providing 3G systems.

I was going to post and ask the same question. I'm going to Ethiopia on a mission trip in October to do computer training classes.
